How Long Will Statehood Take to Realize?

It is difficult to provide a good estimate, but it could actually happen quite quickly. If we can get this issue on the political radar screen for 2008, it is possible that a decision could be made in time for a 2009 (NYC mayoral election year) or 2010 (state/federal election year) referrendum. If the referrendum is carried, we could probably be celebrating statehood by New Year's Day, 2012.
